My daughter and her boyfriend have found that a great date may include staying home and spending some quality time on the laptop notebook. How does that sound to you? Well, it may not be for every couple but those two seem to enjoy it a bunch. As they lie on the floor with the laptop notebook open before them I hear laughter and discussion. They will keep at it for hours only breaking for another soda or a snack.

With face book, my space and regular old fashioned e-mail the kids are in communication with the world. The laptop notebook is the catalyst that makes it all happen. Plus in between all that stimulus they have cell phones for texting. God forbid anyone under the age of thirty have an actual phone conversation or face to face meeting with another human being. Do you know what I mean? 

At the end of an afternoon spent on the laptop notebook my daughter and her boyfriend may head out to meet friends for real. I guess the laptop notebook presents a way for all the kids to coordinate plans to get together. It is a different world now with all the electronics. Got to roll with it, right?
